House Leveling & Foundation LiftingThroughout the Kansas City Metro
We Bring Your Home Back to Level—Safely, Permanently, and Professionally.
When Your House Sinks, ABI Lifts It Back Where It Belongs
Have you noticed your floors sloping? Doors sticking? Cracks growing wider across your walls? These are classic signs your foundation may be settling or sinking. And in the Kansas City area, expansive clay soil, poor drainage, or construction shortcuts are often to blame.
At ABI Corporation, we’ve been
leveling homes and lifting sinking foundations across Lee’s Summit and the KC Metro since 1969. We use industry-proven systems like
push piers,
helical piers, and
hydraulic lifts to restore the structure of your home—without unnecessary demolition or disruption.
What Causes a House to Settle or Sink?
Foundation settlement happens when the soil beneath your home can no longer support its weight. In our region, this is incredibly common due to:
- Expansive clay soils that shrink in dry seasons and swell with rain
- Poor soil compaction during original construction
- Erosion and drainage issues near the foundation
- Heavy additions placed on weak or uneven soil
- Tree roots removing moisture or displacing soil
When these conditions exist, parts of your foundation begin to drop or shift—causing structural damage and expensive downstream problems.
Signs Your Home May Need Foundation Lifting
If you live in Kansas City or surrounding suburbs, look out for these red flags:
Uneven or sloped floors
Doors and windows that won’t close properly
Stair-step cracks in brick or foundation walls
Gaps between walls and ceilings
Cracks in drywall above doors and corners
Chimneys pulling away from the home
Floors that feel bouncy or soft
Tile, wood, or laminate flooring separating or buckling
These signs point to active foundation settlement, and early intervention can save you tens of thousands in long-term repairs.
How ABI Lifts & Levels Foundations
We use
piering systems that stabilize your foundation by transferring its weight from unstable soil to
load-bearing strata deep underground. There’s no guesswork—just solid engineering and proven results.
Steel Push Piers
These heavy-duty galvanized steel piers are driven into the ground beneath your foundation until they reach bedrock or stable soil. We then use hydraulic pressure to lift and lock your home into place.
Ideal for:
- Heavy structures
- Deep settlement
- Homes with concrete footings
Advantages:
- Maximum depth and stability
- Uniform lifting pressure
- Minimal excavation
- Fast, permanent results
Ideal for:
- Porch or deck stabilization
- Additions or garages
- Sites with limited access
- Homes built on fill dirt
Advantages:
- Quick, low-vibration installation
- Instant load-bearing capacity
- Can be installed in tight spaces
- No curing time needed
Helical Piers
Helical piers look like giant screws. They’re
twisted into the ground, anchoring your home to competent soil. These are excellent for lighter structures or areas with tough-to-access soil.

Ideal for:
- Bouncy or uneven floors above crawl space
- Moisture-damaged framing
- Homes with older wooden support beams
Crawl Space Jacking & Support
If your floor is sagging over a crawl space, we install adjustable steel support posts (crawl space jacks) to lift and stabilize the floor joists.

FAQs About House Leveling
Will my house be perfectly level again?
We lift the home to as close to level as safely possible. In some cases, a full lift isn’t recommended to avoid cracking or further stress. But we always stop the movement and stabilize permanently.
How long does it take?
Most piering and lifting jobs take 2–5 days, depending on home size and pier count.
Is the repair disruptive?
Not at all. We excavate only where necessary and leave your property clean. Most homeowners can stay in their home during work.
Do you offer financing or phased plans?
Yes. We work with multiple financing providers and can create phased solutions for larger or multi-stage projects.
